
Getting To AustraliaFrom the USALA is the major departure point for flights to Australia, although some do originate out of San Francisco. Most flights terminate in Sydney or Melbourne
where you will clear customs. Qantas operate daily direct flights to both Melbourne and Sydney out of LA as well as several flights that stop over in New Zealand.
United also operate a number of daily flights to Melbourne and Sydney, as with Qantas, some are direct and others stop over in New Zealand.
Air New Zealand also flies daily with connections through Auckland.
Flying times vary with stopovers; direct flights are approximately 15hours in duration.
Most flights depart LA in between 22.00hrs and 01.00hrs and arrive in Australia early morning 7.00hrs to 9.00hrs
Singapore Airlines are currently negotiating to obtain approval to travel this route (late 2005)

From Europe & BritainNOTE hunters bringing their own firearms are advised not to travel via Singapore. Whilst it is possible to travel through Singapore with firearms there are very expensive transit fees and arrangements MUST be in place prior to departure. There are a number of airlines operating daily flights to Australia from Europe.
Into DarwinQantas operates out of Frankfurt daily through Singapore with connections to Darwin via Australian Airlines (a subsidiary of Qantas). Stop over times can be considerable.
Royal Brunei Airlines operate flights out of Frankfurt to Darwin with an overnight stop in Brunei.
There are currently no other international airlines flying directly into Darwin.
BA, Lufthansa, Singapore airlines all fly into Singapore and connections can be made to Royal Brunei or Australian from there to Darwin see note on bringing firearms.
Into Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne.There are number of airlines operating daily flights into the major east coast cities of Australia. Some have direct flights into Brisbane, the closest city to Darwin.
Malaysia Airlines flys to Brisbane with a short stopover in Kuala Lumpur.
Qantas operates a daily flight through Bangkok to Sydney from London; this is the most direct flight from Britain that does not involve a plane change and the safest route for those bringing firearms from the UK. Connections can be made to London from most major European airports. This route is recommended for British, French and Scandinavian hunters.
Emirates, Thai, Cathay Pacific and Virgin also operate daily flights to Australia.
Getting to Darwin from Melbourne, Sydney and BrisbaneFlights from the east coast to Darwin depart either early morning and arrive around midday or in the evening and arrive around midnight. Travelers from the USA will find it is rarely possible to make a connection through to Darwin, you should allow at least 1 ½ hours. Melbourne is the best option as both the domestic and international terminals are together.
